At present, Belarusian enterprises are creating their strike committees. The situation in the country demands our unity and coordination of actions in order to achieve the fulfilment of our demands on A. Lukashenko’s resignation and holding a new fair presidential election.
We hereby invite all the strike committees to coordinate their actions and be ready for mutual assistance and joint actions.
The Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions, by using its experiences, knowledge and strength of independent trade unions, our offices in the cities of Belarus and our contacts, hereby undertakes to coordinate the work to create a nationwide strike committee.
Only solidarity is the guarantee of our victory!

Today, the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions and all the independent trade unions- its members have unanimously adopted a joint statement. We are ready to help the working people of the country in organizing strike committees and direct them towards fulfilling the demands put forward by the Belarusian society. This is not an attempt to intercept the initiative from someone. The initiative in our country today belongs to the people and labour collectives. Without a clear position and solidarity of all labour collectives, the demands put forward by the citizens of Belarus today will remain on paper only.
Gennady Fedynich, leader of the REP Trade Union
